Men who eat tomatoes over ten portions a week have an 18 percent lower risk of developing prostate cancer, new research shows.
To reach this conclusion, researchers at the universities of Bristol, Cambridge and Oxford looked at the diets and lifestyle of 1,806 men aged between 50 and 69 years with prostate cancer and compared it with 12,005 cancer-free men.
The study developed a prostate cancer 'dietary index' which consists of dietary components - selenium, calcium and foods rich in lycopene - that have been linked to prostate cancer.
It found that men who had optimal intake of these three dietary components had a lower risk of prostate cancer.
Tomatoes and its products - such as tomato juice and baked beans - were shown to be most beneficial, with an 18 percent reduction in risk found in men eating over 10 portions a week.
After his pioneering work in his first book, "Healing Back Pain", Dr. Sarno has condensed his lifetime experience and published his theory in a book titled "The Divided Mind".
The first half of this new book contains the refined and updated contents of his first book, "Healing Back Pain"; and the second half has actual case studies by six great doctors of his time who were his colleagues and practiced his principles of mind body medicine.
Some readers have contacted me for book recommendations to help a deeper understanding of the subject. I have now provided a link to my Amazon Store where you can read more reviews of these two books, and buy these books.
Even when the physical pain is gone by using Dr. Sarno's TMS technique, the source of the pain, which are the painful memories, are still there, though now in the conscious mind, instead of in the subconscious.
The physical pain is gone, but the emotional pain exists. For many people, including me, that is preferable to living with physical pain. But there is a way to get rid of the emotional pain also.
The ultimate solution to ALL pain is to wipe those memories out of your conscious mind also!

My sister, just retired as a Botany professor, is also a writer, much into philosophy. I often request her to review my web pages.
Recently I got this email from her:
"...I went back to 'Enlightenment' just to refresh my memory. There I saw the sentence 'You are IT'. Means 'Tatvamasi' or That thou art. That prompted me to write something about the 4 famous Mahaavaakyaas...Pl see attachment..."
By the way, "Mahavakyas" in Sanskrit means "Great Sayings", and refer to the four principal sayings, one from each of the four Vedas. Below is the content of her attachment:
"The four Mahaavaakyaas declare that the individual (Atman) and the Supreme (Brahman) are one. This unity is the basis of Advaita Vedanta. The Mahaavaakyaas are as follows:
1. Prajnaanam brahma – ‘Brahman is Prajnaanam (meaning awareness or consciousness, which is present and active throughout the cosmos)’ – from Aithareya Upanishad of Rig Veda
2. Ayam aatmaa brahma – ‘This Atman (Self) is Brahman’ – from Maandookya Upanishad of Atharva Veda
3. Tat tvam asi – ‘Thou art That’ – from Chhaandogya Upanishad of Saama Veda
4. Aham brahmaasmi – ‘I am Brahman’ - from Brihadaaranyaka Upanishad of Yajur Veda.
Thus, all the four Vedaas proclaim the same fact."
Is this not what Jesus tried to convey to his people ? Here is a quote from "The Power of Now". Have you read the book yet?...
"...Jesus attempted to convey directly, not through discursive thought, the meaning of presence, of self-realization. He had gone beyond the consciousness dimension governed by time, into the realm of the timeless... Thus, the man Jesus became Christ, a vehicle for pure consciousness. And what is God’s self-definition in the Bible? Did God say, “I have always been, and I always will be?” Of course not. That would have given reality to past and future. God said: “I AM THAT I AM.” No time here, just presence."
Yesterday I received an email from Amazon requesting a review of this book.
After submitting my review, when I went into Amazon's web site to verify it, I was amazed to read some of the more recent reviews!
Fifteen years after I had experienced the miracle of this knowledge in my own life, the magic of this book had continued to bring relief to people, even today!!
Here is what they say:
By John Gregory on November 19, 2013: I'm 6'8 and play a lot of basketball. I've had back pain nearly my entire life, since 4th grade, in the form of myofascial tension knots all throughout my body. I've seen chiropractors, acupuncturists, therapists, and spent a lot of time online trying to find the cause and relief of my tension. This book BLEW MY MIND.
It showed me that the entire approach of my treatment was wrong, that everything I thought I knew about my back was wrong. I think this is one of those books that everyone should read, whether you have severe back problems like I did (the book totally cured me), slight back pain, or never ever want to have back pain. A must-read.
By gans on November 11, 2013: This book was recommended to me by a friend. Was contemplating back surgery. After reading the book no need for surgery . It changed my life.
